Faculty/Staff SUNet

SLS faculty and staff can sign up for Drupal accounts here. Once they do, Web Team will receive a form via email. Wait until you receive this form to proceed.

1. Check if they're in our system:

Check if we have them already in our system: go to User Management then Manage Users and search their SUNet ID. If they don't appear when you search them then reply to their Dupal Account Request form and send them the following email:

Subject:
Re: Stanford Law School Website: Drupal Account Request

Email Body:
Thanks for your recent Drupal account request. There's just a few more steps you need to follow before we give you access.

1. Click this link: http://www.law.stanford.edu/user and try to login with your SUNet ID. This will allow our website to capture your SUNet ID.

2. Once you've tried to login, email webteam@law.stanford.edu and let us know. We will then grant your SUNet ID the access you requested and notify you when your account has been activated.

Thanks,
SLS Webteam

2. Give them the correct permissions:

If they're already in our system or once they reply to you and let you know they've tried logging in you can proceed to giving them permissions. Make sure to only give them permissions they should have. If you're unsure check with the team.

  1. Go to User Management then Manage Users and search their SUNet
  2. Find their account in the list and click its edit link.
  3. For an Event Manager account: select Calendar: Faculty/Staff and click Save.
  4. For a Content Manager account: select Content Manager: Faculty/Staff and click Save.
  5. For Content Managers make them the Page Author of the web pages they want to edit after they have come in for training. We now require that Content Managers attend a 20-30 minute training with the Web Team. After verifying they should be ones managing this content, copy the entire username. For each page that they want access to find the page, click edit, and make them the Page Author.

3. Notify the person:

Email the appropriate confirmaiton message to the user.
