FutureLaw Week at Stanford Law captured a profession in motion, bringing together scholars, students, technologists, and industry leaders for a week of workshops, a hackathon, and sharp conversations about how AI is remaking law. Across the program, the focus was not just on what these tools can ...do, but on how to make sure they improve the quality, accessibility, and integrity of legal systems.
A highlight of the week was the presentation of the 2026 CodeX Prize to Professor Daniel E. Ho, whose scholarship has helped shape the field of legal informatics and deepen understanding of how technology can strengthen law and governance. FutureLaw Week is one of the Codex's signature annual gatherings.

The '27 ...Franke Fellows will spend 7 weeks on campus followed by a 3-week immersive travel experience in Singapore, Tokyo, Hong Kong, Shanghai and Shenzhen, with travel, lodging and most weekday meals covered. A major honor for Stanford Law Professor and Stanford Reglab Director Daniel E. Ho: He has received the 2026 CodeX Prize.
The award, presented at Codex's annual FutureLaw conference, honors Ho’s contributions to legal informatics and his influential scholarship on AI, government, ...and legal institutions. In particular, the prize recognized several of Ho’s foundational papers, including "Algorithmic Accountability in the Administrative State" and "Government by Algorithm: Artificial Intelligence in Federal Administrative Agencies." Congratulations to Professor Ho, who has helped shape contemporary thinking about AI, law, and policy.
