Are you interested in cleantech and alternative energy? Would you like to learn about working as in-house counsel in a start-up company? BioLaw, SLATA and The Energy Society present Solazyme: Producing Biofuels from Algae.
The Founder/CTO and In-house Counsel of Solazyme, Inc. will be speaking about their experiences founding a cleantech company and working in the biofuel sector. Solazyme, Inc. is a renewable oil production company specializing in algal synthetic biology. The company uses algae to produce oil that can be used not only for advanced biofuel production, but also as replacements for fossil petroleum and plant oils in a diverse range of products running from green household cleaning supplies to cosmetics and foods. Recognized as one of Business Week's 25 Companies to Watch in Energy Tech and the 2009 TiE50 Top Cleantech Start-Up, Solazyme was recently awarded an $8.5 million dollar contract to supply the world's first 100% algal jet fuel to the U.S. Navy.
