Part of Professor Joan Petersilia's Sentencing, Corrections and Criminal Justice Policy course, guest speaker Superior Court Judge Peter Espinoza (Criminal Division, County of Los Angeles) will discuss how judges decide criminal sentencing, the challenges of sentencing third strikers and sex offenders, and how he searches for fairness and justice in criminal punishment.
