Brenda Shum

Biography

Brenda Shum is a clinical teaching fellow in the Youth & Education Law Project at the Mills Legal Clinic of Stanford Law School.

Before joining the law school in 2007, Shum was project director at the American Bar Association Center on Children and the Law, where she provided training on issues that included state and federal welfare law, courtroom testimony, and cross-system collaboration; and evaluated the administration of justice in abuse and neglect cases. Prior to this, Shum was staff attorney at the Juvenile Rights Project, where her duties included representing abused and neglected children in juvenile dependency, special education, custody, termination, and adoption proceedings. Shum holds a JD from the University of Washington School of Law.
