September 24, 2007 5:00pm - 6:30pm
Preimplantation Genetic Diagnosis (PGD) can enable embryo screening for devastating genetic diseases. It can also be used to select for certain desired genetic traits. Professor Gordon Chang will speak about his family’s experience in using PGD to conceive a “savior sibling” to have a second child who could be a cord blood donor to their daughter.
Professor Gordon Chang is a Professor of American History in the Stanford University Department of History. His research and teaching focuses on the profound historical connections between race and ethnicity in America and foreign relations.
