The participants will be Max Edling (Uppsala, History); Daniel Hulsebosch (NYU, Law); Michael W. McConnell (Stanford, Law); Bernadette Meyler (Cornell, Law); Jack Rakove (Stanford, History and Law); Caroline Winterer (Stanford, History); and Nathan Chapman (Stanford, Law, fellow).
The works discussed will include an early printing of Thomas Jefferson's Notes on the State of Virginia, James Kent's marginalia-filled copy of The Debates and Proceedings of the Convention of the State of New-York, a letter from George Washington to Henry Laurens, and Jonathan Edwards's Freedom of the Will.
