Join SLS visiting professor Michael Asimow and writer Marshall Goldberg, JD '71 for a special panel discussion on the subject of law and lawyers in film, TV and pop culture.

Light refreshments will be served. The registration fee for this event is $20 for general admission and $15 for young alumni ('00 -'10).

SLS visiting professor for 2010-2015, Professor Michael Asimow teaches contracts, tax and administrative law. He received both the University's Distinguished Teaching Award and the School of Law's Rutter Award for Excellence in Teaching at UCLA. He is co-author of Reel Justice: The Courtroom Goes to the Movies (2006) (co-authored with Paul Bergman), a book about the great courtroom movies of the past and present. He has also written Law and Popular Culture: A Course Book (2004) (with Shannon Mader). He has also published articles on lawyers, law firms, and legal ethics in the movies.

Before becoming General Counsel for the Writers Guild of America, west, Inc., Marshall M. Goldberg, JD '71, was a television and film writer for 24 years. His credits include The Jeffersons, Paper Chase, L.A. Law, It’s Garry Shandling’s Show, The Bob Newhart Show, Silver Spoons, and Life Goes On. Prior to that he was counsel for the U.S. Senate Judiciary Subcommittee on Constitutional Rights, and an attorney and legislative liaison for the U.S. Department of Justice Civil Rights Division.
