Details

February 25, 2013 12:35pm - 2:00pm

Room 290

California's Central Coast region sits atop the Monterrey Shale -- one of the richest hydrocarbon reserves in the continental United States. Recent developements in horizontal drilling and hydraulic fracturing have made oil and gas development in the region economically viable. ELS is pleased to present Kassie Siegel, Director of the Climate Law Institute at Center for Biological Diversity (CBD). Kassie will discuss the impacts of oil and gas development, and also the efforts by CBD and others around federal, state, and local regulations governing the development. For more information on CBD's fracking campaign, visit their website.
