International Court of Justice: What it is and How it works

Come network with Jenny Grote Stoutenburg, an Associate Legal Officer with the ICJ in The Hague. Jenny will give an overview of the history, functioning and day-to-day work of the International Court of Justice. Following this, Jenny will be available to discuss career opportunities.
Lunch will be provided.
Prior to joining the Court, Jenny was a Visiting Scholar at UC Berkeley School of Law and worked at the Max Planck Institute for Comparative Public Law and International Law in Germany. Jenny has collaborated with Stanford’s Center for Ocean Solutions in a study on legal approaches to combat ocean acidification. She holds law degrees from the University of Cologne, Germany, and the Université Paris I (Panthéon-Sorbonne), France. Jenny wrote her dissertation on the topic of “Disappearing Island States in International Law”.
