A Look Into Our Technology Future, How We Will Solve the Grand Challenges of Humanity
July 21, 2014 2:00pm - 4:00pm
Please join us in welcoming visiting students from the Chinese Association of Science and Technology, a non-profit organization that promotes academic exchange and educational development for the next generation. The association seeks to establish cooperative relations with American institutions, corporations, enterprises and organizations, to create favorable conditions for cooperation between the United States and China. Since its foundation in 1992, CAST has become one of the most-recognized organizations among Chinese professionals in the United States.
This talk has been arranged at the request of students who either participated in or heard about the 2013 CAST students' visit. Last summer, high school students from the Shanghai hongqiao district in China came to visit Stanford University and were given talks by Rob Reich, Associate Professor of Political Science and Ethics in Society; David Jaffe, Lecturer and Associate Director, Alex Tung Memorial Assistive Technology Laboratory at Stanford (ATLAS); and Vivek Wadhwa, Fellow, Stanford Rock Center for Corporate Governance Fellow.
