Prospective Students

The career opportunities available to Stanford Law School students and alumni are practically limitless. Our graduates are leaders in national law firms, public interest organizations, private industry, and all branches of government. Our role in the Office of Career Service (OCS) is to assist our students and graduates in identifying and achieving their career goals. To that end, the OCS staff provides counseling for students and alumni private sector, judicial clerkships, and international career. In addition, OCS provides many resources essential to the success of the student job search:

  • a complete career library, which includes information on all aspects of the job search;
  • informational panels and programs that provide students with opportunities to learn about different law practices, trends in the legal employment market, and non-law alternatives;
  • On-Campus Interview Programs (CIP) that bring over 300 employers representing approximately 600 offices nationwide to interview Stanford Law School students;
  • a February CIP geared primarily toward first-year students;
  • a Judicial Clerkship Program, in which we assist students with the application process and provide detailed information on the opportunities available.
