QuickTime 7
QuickTime 7 is the only media player that can be used for viewing the streaming video of this event. If you do not have QuickTime 7 already installed on your computer, a free version of QuickTime 7 is available on-line.
Follow the instructions appropriate for your platform (linked at left).
Windows Installation
- Visit apple's site to download the free QuickTime Player.
- Click on the blue "Free Download" button in the middle of the page, to proceed with the download process.
- On this page,
- Select download option (QuickTime w/ iTunes, or QuickTime only)
- Next, enter your email address in the text box below the download options. Click "Free Download Now" button.
- The installation software should automatically start downloading.
- Once the installation software is downloaded, you will be prompted to run the software.
- At the first prompt box, choose 'Run'
- At the second prompt box, choose 'Run'
- QuickTime 7 is now being installed onto your computer. The installation process can take anywhere between 3-15 mins, depending on your connection to the internet.
- At the end of the installation process, you may be asked a few questions regarding your playback preferences. Once the installation is complete, you will be asked to restart your computer. Press 'restart'.
- You could then test if QuickTime was properly installed by:
- visiting this test video
- or opening the stream's URL from the QuickTime player
- Copy this URL: rtsp://voirdire.stanford.edu/test-150k.mov
- Launch QuickTime Player
- Select File->Open URL
- Paste URL into the text box, and press OK

Macintosh Installation
In general most Macintosh's have QuickTime installed already. And if you have been keeping up with updates released via Software Update you should be ready to go.
You can check your QuickTime version from the About QuickTime menu item in the QuickTime Player, or the "About QuickTime" button in the Register tab of the QuickTime System Preferences panel.
For a manual installation:
- Visit apple's site to download the free player.
- Click on the blue "Free Download Now" button in the middle of the page, to proceed with the download process.
- The installation software should automatically start downloading.
- Once the installation software has been downloaded, you will be prompted to begin the installation process. Follow the installer's instructions.
- After the installation is complete you can test if QuickTime was properly installed by:

- Select File->Open URL
