Chicago Tribune critic Steve Johnson cites Professor Lawrence Lessig regarding Viacom's lawsuit against YouTube and its owner Google:
"But what's really unfair here, argues Stanford law professor Lawrence Lessig, a leading thinker in the movement to loosen the copyright noose, is Viacom's use of the lawsuit to make an end run around Congress, which explicitly provided the YouTubes of the world "Safe Harbor" to host copyrighted material by placing the onus for identifying such content on copyright holders. 'Why burden Congress with the hassle of law making when you've got a Supreme Court eager to jump in and legislate?,' Lessig writes in his blog."
