In a significant breakthrough for the smartphone wars, Apple Inc. and HTC Corp. announced a settlement that would resolve a patent dispute between the two companies.
Although a joint statement filed Saturday in the U.S. District Court of Delaware revealed little about the terms of the 10-year agreement that covers current and future patents of both companies, legal observers perceived it as a strategic move for Apple.
