Bargains Online For "Cyber Monday" - Twitter Expects Big Role In Online Shopping
Ryan Calo discusses the "sweet spot" that we are in with one in five internet users using status update services. As the number of users and the volume of communication increase, "Cyber Monday" will experience new challenges. KCBS ran this interview with Calo:
The social networking site Twitter may play a bigger role for online holiday shoppers this season.
Ryan Calo with the Stanford Law School's Center for Internet and Society said the site will also help consumers find bargains and shopping strategies.

"Consumers are using Twitter to communicate with one another very effectively. And they're doing that to, for instance, find out what people are saying about the products," Calo said. "Even asking their friends or, on Twitter, their followers about what deals they're seeing. And you could actually use Facebook or Twitter or anything to find out what your friends and loved ones might want this particular season from their profiles."
Calo said major department stores are using Twitter to inform shoppers about sales and to answer any questions consumers might have about products.
