Lecturer in law Thomas Goldstein is quoted in this article on a U.S. Supreme Court case on election spending:
The US Supreme Court, signaling it could be ready to hand down a major ruling on election spending, added a new public session to its calendar and will take the bench today to release opinions.
The addition of a midterm session is unusual for a court that normally follows a set schedule for the release of its opinions. The announcement makes it “essentially certain’’ that the court will rule today in the campaign finance case, said Tom Goldstein, a Washington lawyer and the creator of the Scotusblog website, which tracks the court.
