Barbara Olshansky of Stanford University, who represented the 170 Guantanamo inmates said SPIEGEL ONLINE: “It is a remarkable judgment – after years during which I asked myself whether we are still living in a democracy.” Many observers also see in it a noticeable setback for the attempts of the White House to continue to expand the powers of the U.S. President.
