The perils a lawyer faces with regard to his/her online activity--especially blogging--are described in this article. Lauren Gelman, associate director of the Center for Internet & Society and lecturer in law is quoted:
But for now, some students at Stanford Law School don't blog for fear that comments will surface later to jinx Supreme Court and other career opportunities, said Lauren Gelman, assoc. dir. of the school's Center for Internet & Society at the Web 2.0 Expo here last week. Gelman said she wants her cyberlaw-clinic students to blog, and if they're reluctant, she suggests they do so anonymously. But such online activity is becoming so widespread that eventually social norms about holding old postings against authors will have to change, Gelman said.
