Professor Hank Greely, an expert on law and the biosciences, talks to Kerry Miller of Minnesota Public Radio about using familial DNA evidence to solve crimes:

Police in California used a controversial crime-solving method caught the notorious "Grim Sleeper" by using the DNA of the murderer's son. Some experts want to expand this search to catch more criminals, however it is not done in most states because of concerns over privacy and racial profiling.
