Judge Hears Bonds, Attorneys Deny Any Conflicts of Interest

Professor Robert Weisberg is quoted in a Daily Journal story examining whether there might be a conflict of interest in hiring Allen Ruby as a defense lawyer for Barry Bonds because he had represented someone a few years ago in a potentially related case:

"The judge has to satisfy herself that no confidential information from the other previous clients will play a role in cross-examinations," said Stanford law professor Robert Weisberg. "Because of the quality of lawyers and the quality of the judge in this case, I'm sure there's not going to be a big problem."
