Professor Deborah L. Rhode is quoted In a San Jose Mercury News story commenting on vice presidential running mate Sarah Palin and the scrutiny women face when it comes to family and career priorities:
"Is there a double standard? Absolutely,'' said Stanford Law School Professor Deborah Rhode, an expert in women's issues. "When a man does that, Wow! He's being credited as a SNAG — a sensitive new age guy. And she's the one whose career commitment is questioned.''
The debate should end with a simple declaration, Rhode added: "If Sarah Palin thinks she can manage it, then that should be good enough for the American public.''
