Patent Reform Tops List Of Tech Concerns
Professor Mark Lemley was quoted in a Macworld story about the Tech Policy Summit in San Jose on Monday.
"Patents are not a driver of innovation, they are an impediment to innovation," said Lemley, speaking at the summit.
Lemley said one big problem with patent law is that it often enables one company to force another company to cease production during a patent dispute. "The patent holdup forces the company to settle for more money than the patent is worth," he said.
