Professor Williaqm B. Gould IV is quoted in Back Stage in an article about a bitterly divided Screen Actors Guild Board of Directors about whether there should be a vote to authorize a strike against producers over the long-stalled television-and-film contract. ... Andrew Salomon states that a general state of dysfunction could have a negative effect on the entertainment industry's other unions, as well as on the industry itself:

William B. Gould IV, a professor emeritus of labor law at Stanford University and chair of the National Labor Relations Board during the Clinton administration, agreed. "I'm sure the other unions are deeply concerned about what is happening," he said, "and what the impact will be for their own employment."
