Stanford Mixes Lawyers, Insurance To Shield Documentaries

This article covers the breakthrough initiative recently launched by the Fair Use Project (FUP) at the Stanford Center for Internet and Society to provide critical support for documentary filmmakers who rely on the “fair use” of copyrighted material in their films. FUP's Executive Director Anthony Falzone discusses the first documentary film that the program will help:

"Bling: A Planet Rock" ­ a documentary about the effect the hip-hop culture's glorification of diamonds and violence has had on the people of Sierra Leone ­ has so far steered clear of trouble, Falzone said. "And we intend to keep that way."
