Suits Over Lennon Song Dropped
Lecturer in Law and Director of the Fair Use Clinic Anthony Falzone is quoted in a Wall Street Journal article discussing the copyright infringement case EMI Records and Yoko Ono have now dropped against Premise Media.
In a blog posting Monday night, Anthony Falzone, a Stanford law professor who represents Premise, said he welcomed the plaintiffs' decision to drop their lawsuits. But he said the move came too late for the song to be included on the DVD of the movie, which is to be released Oct. 21. Mr. Falzone added that the episode highlights "the damage that even an unproved and unsupported infringement claim can do."
