Supreme Court Upholds Campus Military Recruiting

Publication Date:
March 07, 2006
Los Angeles Times
David G. Savage

The "Los Angeles Times" quotes Dean Larry Kramer, who comments on withholding support of the Solomon Amendment, which allows the Secretary of Defense to deny federal grants (including research grants) to institutions of higher education if they prohibit or prevent ROTC or military recruitment on campus.

"No one was denying them access. We just withheld affirmative support," said Stanford Law School dean Larry Kramer, who was a New York University law professor when the case began.
