Professor Pamela Karlan is quoted in an Investor's Business Daily story discussing a ruling by the Supreme Court about gun ownership:
"Having answered that, (the court) almost takes it out as something that would be a major issue in the election," said Pam Karlan, a Stanford law professor during a conference call organized by the liberal Center for American Progress.
What it doesn't do, she says, is end the debate forever. The case, Heller v. District of Columbia, struck down a D.C. handgun ban, but did not automatically invalidate similar laws in other cities.
