Professor Joseph A. Grundfest is quoted in the International Herald Tribune about a potential shareholder-led proxy fight over control of Yahoo's board of directors:
Joseph Grundfest, a professor of law and business at Stanford University, agreed that a proxy battle might not be practical given the short time frame, but did not rule out the possibility of a shareholder-led proxy fight.
"What you need is a large shareholder. You don't need a Microsoft. You would just need someone with sufficient economic interest to support the expense," he said. "It's a challenge, but you have to realize that there are many billions of dollars at stake here," Grundfest added.
