Yahoo Shares Slide After Bid Withdrawn
Professor Ronald Gilson comments on the failed merger talks between Microsoft and Yahoo on ABC 7 News:
Ronald Gilson is a professor of corporate law and governance at Stanford Law School. He doesn't rule out lawsuits, but thinks the fireworks could come at Yahoo's next annual meeting this summer. "We expect management to make an informed decision, a thoughtful decision, a sensible decision, and if we don't like the way management is running the company, we get rid of them. We don't sue them," says Gilson.
"I wouldn't be surprised if negotiations continue on and off for a period because the transaction will become more or less attractive, depending on what happens to each of their businesses over the next few months," says Gilson.
