Governance
We’ve provided comprehensive governance advice, documents and board briefings to multiple organizations ranging from rural youth development nonprofits to major urban food banks.

Structure
We’ve advised mental health, venture philanthropy, immigration, veterans’ rights, charter school, legal services, child services, urban farming and agricultural education nonprofits about corporate structure, collaboration and affiliation arrangements, mergers and related matters.

Food system
We’ve drafted market rules, site agreements and other contracts for farmers’ market operators, developed contracts, leases and operating policies for beginning farmer education, commercial kitchen, community produce gleaning, local food alliance and urban-edge farming programs, and provided brand protection advice to local food and food security organizations.

Human services
We’ve redesigned and strengthened program, contract and volunteer documents for transitional housing, rental subsidy, below-market housing, food bank, food pantry, youth development, business incubator, legal services and other charitable programs.

Fiscal sponsorship
We’ve advised multiple nonprofits and drafted documents regarding fiscal sponsorship arrangements and project spin-offs and transfers.

Contracts and MOUs
We’ve drafted collaboration, grant, subgrant, loan, lease, sublease, sponsorship, affiliation, trademark license, website, chapter, services, contractor, consulting, agency, equipment use, facility use, land access, joint fundraising, non-disclosure, liability waiver, goods purchase and other contracts and MOUs for diverse charities and private foundations.

Model documents
We’ve created model documents for community gardens, farm leases, municipal healthy restaurant certification programs and community financing of food system businesses.

Risk management
We’ve provided risk assessment and management advice to a wide range of organizations, including child abuse prevention, shelter, food security and agriculture nonprofits.

We seek out engagements that present opportunities to perform both discrete tasks and broader analytical work and provide occasions to create a variety of written work products and client communications.
