Elizabeth Armand Di Giovanni

Elizabeth advises students on international career strategy and development. She also oversees the legal recruiting program for foreign trained lawyers in the advanced degree programs and works with firms and organizations to expand international opportunities for Stanford students. Elizabeth joined the office in January 2005.

Elizabeth graduated from Stanford Law School in 1999 and moved to Los Angeles where she worked as an associate at Los Angeles law firm. Before joining SLS, Elizabeth was an Assistant Director for Clerkship and Counseling at University of Southern California and prior to working at USC, she worked at the Career Development Office at Pepperdine School of Law.

Laura Flores
Assistant Director, Private Sector Programs

Laura works with law firms, alumni, and students to create innovative career programs for the office for both private sector and non-law business opportunities. She manages the career services program calendar and is also responsible for the OCS website and many of the publications that the office produces. Before coming to Stanford, Laura worked in the private sector as a legal recruitment coordinator.

Carol Ida
Director, Judicial Clerkships and Private Sector Counseling

Carol is responsible for all aspects of the judicial clerkship application process. She is also available to advise all students on career planning and job-search strategies. Prior to coming to Stanford, Carol was the Recruitment Manager for a AmLaw 100 law firm, and worked with FindLaw, setting up their online search firm.

Lee Kite
Private Sector Counselor

Lee Kite is a Private Sector Counselor with more than 17 years of experience in legal recruiting and she advises students on private sector careers and options. Most recently, Lee served as the Firmwide Professional Recruiting Manager at Heller Ehrman, where she worked closely with law schools around the country and oversaw the firm's law student and lateral attorney recruiting programs. She has reviewed thousands of resumes, interviewed and evaluated candidates, and served as an informal counselor to summer and new associates.

Jo Anne Larson
Private Sector Advisor

Jo Anne is a Private Sector Counselor advising students on career options in the private sector and providing practical strategies for achieving professional goals. For several years prior to joining Stanford, Jo Anne was the national Director of Attorney Recruiting for an AmLaw 100 firm, responsible for its law school and lateral attorney hiring. This experience gives her unique understanding of the national law firm recruiting market and what law firms are looking for in the law students they hire. In addition, her extensive law firm management experience in operations, finance and human resources provides rare insight into the attributes of successful associates, law firm decision-making and financial performance metrics.

Melissa Leger

Melissa Maynard Leger, is the Associate Director for Career Services, a position she's held for 8 years. She manages both the Fall and Spring On-Campus Interviewing Programs, and is the primary liaison between employers and the law students they seek to recruit. She advises employers on ways to convey their unique strengths to their target population, and in doing so, helps them develop long-range outreach strategies to maximize their recruiting potential. Melissa received her B.A. from the University of California at Santa Barbara prior to joining Stanford's team in 1996.

Melissa is the primary contact for the office and works closely with employers who wish to recruit Stanford Law School students and alumni. In addition, she provides technical assistance with the online jobs search database and helps plan and coordinate the spring and fall Campus Interviewing Programs.

Susan C. Robinson
Associate Dean for Career Services

Susan advises students and alumni on a wide range of issues involving career planning and job searches. She also works closely with employers to assist them in utilizing OCS resources to maximize the recruitment of SLS students and alumni. Susan joined the office in 1997. She is a 1992 graduate of Columbia Law School. From 1992 through 1997, she was a litigator at two major San Francisco law firms, where she mentored new associates and participated in the recruitment of law students, including serving on the hiring committee.

Deidre Sparks
Esq. Private Sector Advisor

Deidre is a Private Sector Advisor who advises students on private sector careers and options. She practiced corporate law for a number of years and then moved into professional development. She has served on her firm’s summer and recruiting committees, interviewed on campus and served as a mentor to summer and new associates. Deidre graduated from the UC Davis School of Law in 1987.
