Advanced Doctoral Fellow
Andrew Peterman is currently working as an Advanced Doctoral Fellow with Dan Reicher on strategies to help reduce the barriers to investment in building clean energy retrofits. He recently defended his dissertation for the Ph.D. in Civil and Environmental Engineering at Stanford University. Andrew has long been interested in the relationships between organizations and the natural environment. He recently defended his PhD with an emphasis on energy and environmental policy. His research examined the various roles that organizations may take within alliance networks to diffuse knowledge in hopes of promoting clean energy and drastic economy-wide energy reductions in the commercial building sector. His dissertation employed a wide range of qualitative and quantitative research methods including ethnography, analytic induction, structured interviews, survey design and social network analysis. Prior to his PhD work, Andrew was an Imagineer at The Walt Disney Company focused on reducing the company’s impact on the environment.
