Stereotyping and Prejudice

Description

The goal of this course is to critically review classic and contemporary social psychological approaches to stereotyping, prejudice, and discrimination. We will examine the determinants, maintenance, and consequences of stereotyping, prejudice, and discrimination. We will also consider how these factors influence the experiences and outcomes of women and racial/ethnic minorities. Each week, we will work to tie general theories and findings to particular social domains (e.g., law, education, or employment). Conducted as a seminar.
