Women's Legal History

Description

Through biographical research and writing, this course looks at the progress of women in the legal profession. Its focus will be on the contributions that women have made, and on the lessons of this history for the present. Readings are from Women's Legal History Website. Each student will contribute a biographical portfolio (or chapter) on a historical woman lawyer to the website and present it to the class. Because locating a subject and legal materials can take more than a semester, students are urged to sign up for both the fall and spring semesters of the course.
