International Community Law Clinic: Ghana

Description

The International Community Law Clinic: Ghana begins with a weekly seminar during the Fall Semester. Students learn about human rights, economic development and community lawyering issues in general and their application to Ghana in particular. Students are expected to read all assigned materials and actively participate in all seminars.

All students registered in this Clinic for the Fall must also register for the J-Term. During January-Term, students will travel to Ghana for approximately three weeks to work on one of two projects. The first will be a joint project with Harvard Law School and the Legal Resource Centre, Ghana, related to social and economic rights, and particularly focusing on a "Human Right to Healthcare." The second project is currently being fashioned but will entail human rights and community lawyering as well.
