Abstract
The author reflects on the essay “Transferring morality to human-nonhuman chimeras,” by Monika Piotrowska, which appeared in a 2014 issue of the journal. He attempts to answer Piotrowska’s question, “Should the distinct origins of the two mice, which may produce indistinguishable outcomes, force them into distinct moral classes?” He discusses his skepticism over the possibility of seeing human-nonhuman chimeras whose brain stem cells could give rise to human-like mental features.
