Services

The IT group is fully committed in supporting the needs of the law school community through an assortment of services that are offered.

Help Desk

The Law School Help Desk is responsible for purchase, installation, and maintenance of computing hardware and services, operating systems, and application software, in two areas:

  • Desktop and Laptop Computing which includes hardware and software problem resolution and virus protection at the desktop level
  • Technical Services which includes the acquisition, installation and maintenance of all SLS server and network infrastructure, including email, file storage, spam and virus protection at the server level, and WAN and LAN connectivity

The Help Desk also has agreements with service providers for hardware repair, acquisition of special software, and data recovery. The Help Desk can be contacted via phone at 650 724.8333, or by e-mail at help@law.stanford.edu.

Audio-Visual

The IT group provides A/V capabilities for both academic support and public events held at the Law School. These capabilities include technology for audio and video conferencing and recording, document cameras, and presentation setup, as well as service calls for A/V deployment, reconfiguration, and demonstration of/assistance with equipment.

Systems Integration

The IT group provides integrations services in three areas:

  • Systems Services which includes programming, design and testing of new applications, vendor management and system administration
  • Web Services which includes the development for and hosting of all SLS internet and intranet services
  • Creative Services which includes graphics, video and audio post-production, animations, and still photography
