Mark Chandler is Senior Vice President, General Counsel, and Secretary at Cisco, where he manages a team of 160 professionals; he has served in that role since 2001. Prior to that, he was Managing Attorney for the Europe, Middle East and Africa region, based in Paris. Chandler joined Cisco in 1996 upon the acquisition of StrataCom, Inc., where he had been general counsel. He served as vice president for corporate development and general counsel of Maxtor Corporation, a Fortune 500 manufacturer of computer data storage devices, from 1988 to 1994.

Chandler is also member of the Board of Directors of Lytton Gardens Senior Communities in Palo Alto, California, the Board of Visitors of Stanford Law School, the Board of Trustees of Belmont Hill School in Belmont, Massachusetts, and the Advisory Council of the Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars in Washington. He previously served as member and chairman of the City of Palo Alto Planning Commission. Chandler received a bachelor’s degree in 1978 from Harvard College and a doctor of jurisprudence from Stanford Law School in 1981.
