Directors' College 2011 Chile

September 30, 2011

Room Offsite
For the first time in Chile, and in Latin America, the Stanford Rock Center for Corporate Governance, a joint initiative of Stanford Law School and the Graduate School of Business at Stanford, will be co-hosting a Directors' College program with the Centro de Gobierno Corporativo of Universidad Catolica (CGCUC), a Center formed by the joint initiative of the business school and law school at UC.

Directors' College Chile will bring together leading Stanford and PUC Faculty, CEOs, board members, jurists, scholars, and regulators, for a rigorous and balanced examination of corporate governance, strategy and compliance. The program will be an intensive one-day program for directors and senior executives of Chilean public and private firms. The curriculum will address a broad range of problems that confront modern boards in Chile, including whether boards of directors require more regulations; the challenges of new regulations and auto-regulations; directors' committees and audit committees, their roles and functions in light of the financial crisis; the role of institutional shareholders in corporate governance; the correct functioning of company boards, differences between companies with controlling shareholders and dispersed ownership.
