Court To Hear Age Discrimination Case Against Google
Professor Deborah Rhode talks to Cy Musiker of KQED radio about a case coming up in the California Supreme Court on age discrimination in Silicon Valley:
This week, the California Supreme Court will hear an age discrimination case that examines Silicon Valley's youth culture. Google fired engineer Brian Reid six years ago when Reid was 54. The company said Reid was a poor "cultural fit" for the company. In court filings, Reid has said that co-workers had called him an "old fuddy-duddy" and "obsolete." We discuss the case with the director of Stanford's Center on the Legal Profession.
