Current Awareness

Journal Routing
Journals or journal tables of contents can be directly routed to faculty.  Please let us know which publications you would like to receive.  Hard copy journals are available for students on the first floor of the library.

BloombergBNA Reports and Updates
BloombergBNA’s daily and weekly reporters provide extensive updates and analysis in areas such as patent law and international trade, or opinions by the U.S. Supreme Court.  A link to the BloombergBNA library, including a list of the reports to which the library subscribes, is available from the library's legal databases page. In addition, any SLS affiliate with a Bloomberg Law (BLAW) account can access BloombergBNA publications directly.

Personalized News & Law Journal Updates
Faculty members and students can create personalized alerts on any legal or news topic of interest. Please chat with a reference librarian to customize daily, weekly, or monthly notifications using the following services:

  • LexisNexis & Westlaw enable users to save most searches as an alert, with options to specify search frequency and mode of transmission. Available databases include case law, news, law journals, bar publications, and more.
  • Current Index to Legal Periodicals (CILP), a weekly service, provides tables of contents for over 500 major law reviews and journals. Relying on the CILP database, SmartCILP provides a weekly update of newly-published articles on topics or in journals of interest.

SSRN Social Science Research Network

SSRN is dedicated to rapid dissemination of social science research and provides an e-mail alert service in several specialized areas, including law, management, accounting, economics and politics.
