At the Conference on Empirical Legal Studies held in October 2023 at the University of Chicago Law School, JSD candidate Janka Deli won the 2023 Theodore Eisenberg Poster Prize for her poster titled “How Much Does the Rule of Law Matter for International Trade?” Deli was the first person from ...SLS to bring home the award in the conference’s 17-year history.

CELS is an interdisciplinary gathering that draws researchers from across the United States and the world, bringing together scholars in law, economics, political science, psychology, and other fields who are interested in the empirical analysis of law and legal institutions.
