Jeffrey Witten Kobrick

Jeff Kobrick has been a partner in the Silicon Valley offices of the law firm of Cooke Kobrick & Wu LLP since 2004. He is an experienced civil litigator in state and federal courts and has practiced in both Massachusetts and California and is a member of the bar in both states. Previously, he served as a trial attorney with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission in Boston and San Francisco for nearly five years. Before that, he was a litigator at Bingham Dana & Gould (now Bingham McCutchen). Jeff was also a lawyer at Greater Boston Legal Services for ten years, during the period when it was an OEO legal services program serving low income people.

Jeff has taught at Stanford Law School since 1998, as a consulting professor and lecturer, and teaches courses in Federal Litigation and Trial Advocacy. Before coming to Stanford, for a number of years he taught courses in Federal Litigation and Professional Responsibility as a visiting professor and lecturer at Harvard Law School. He was privileged to have had President Barack Obama as a student in his course in Professional Responsibility when Mr. Obama was President of the Harvard Law Review.

Jeff graduated from the University of Chicago with honors, and from the University of Pennsylvania Law School cum laude and Order of the Coif. He was an Editor of the University of Pennsylvania Law Review. After his graduation, he served as a law clerk for U.S. District Judge Fred J. Cassibry in New Orleans, Louisiana.
